The Cedars B&B

The Cedars B&B is a pleasant country house set in a peaceful garden in the heart of the Matildic lands with the ancient and historical castle of Canossa within easy reach. The area is famous also, for being the "cradle" of the well renown "Parmigiano-Reggiano" cheese.

Visitors can enjoy the swimming pool and tennis courts in the village nearby, or go horse-riding at the local stables or even play golf at the well-known 18-hole golf course just a few kilometres away.Hot springs and spa resort is located at 20 km only.

Situated at the foot of the Appenine mountains, "The Cedars" is an ideal starting point for relaxing walks and bicycle rides in the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside, far from the traffic of modern towns and cities.

Where we are

This part of the region of Emilia is notable for its artistic and historical heritage and the towns of Mantova Parma and Modena, together with the ancient small duchies of Guastalla, Gualtieri, Sabbioneta and other villages such as Busseto, the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi, are all within easy driving distance and well worth visiting.

The town of Reggio Emilia is 12 km or 15 minutes drive away and during the respective seasons and upon request, tickets can be booked for the various opera, ballet, and classical music performances at the beautiful opera house/theatre of Reggio Emilia or at the equally fine theatres of Parma and Busseto.

Guests can enjoy a full continental breakfast made up of genuine home-made products, typical of the region of Emilia Romagna. Bicycles are available upon request and further information regarding: local history, itineries walks, bus services, etc., can all be obtained at "The Cedars".
